Growing up, I have always been the kid on the outside looking in. I was shy and afraid to speak up for the things I wanted. I was desperate to fit into the crowd. Today I will talk about how self-confidence improved my life.
I had a lot of potentials to be valuable to people around me, but my personality kept me stuck in my shell. As I got older, I started to see that I was not alone in this.
The more I watched people, I began to understand that there are a lot of people struggling with their self-confidence.
They try so hard to blend into the crowd that they end up standing out for the wrong reasons. One day, I woke up and decided I could not live like this anymore.
How my self-confidence improved my life
I knew I had to get my self-confidence level up. I did not want to feel like I was not worth anything anymore. I wanted to actually mean something to someone.
I made watching ted talks and listening to podcasts on growth, self-love and topics on confidence a habit. I did my best to apply the lessons and teachings to my everyday life.
I was determined to not be a loser in this race we call life. I slowly started to get my life together. I found out that to attract happy and positive people, you have to be a happy and positive person. I had to work from the inside out.
I began to recognize the things that made me who I am and I made conscious efforts to fall in love with them. I know I am unique and I know I have to be proud of who I am.
If I do not love myself, no one will, right? This question was what I asked myself every day as I worked towards improving my self-confidence.
Now, I appreciate life. I have become a lover of people. I do not stay around people that do not appreciate me for who I am and that’s how self-confidence improved my life.
I am not someone to be tolerated. I am valuable and I show my worth to people without being desperate to prove myself.
People around me have stopped taking me for granted and now listen to the things I say because I have shown over time that I do not have to depend on anybody for my happiness.
I am proud of the person I am and the little victories I have achieved. I no longer go green with envy when I see people doing better than me instead I believe if I put in the necessary work I can also achieve good things.
My new-found self-confidence has begun to rub off on my friends and family and my shy nature is becoming a thing of the past.
I like that I am now in control of myself and my emotions. It was not fun being a pushover that did everything to make everyone happy without thinking about what I wanted.
I am glad to be past all that now. Self-confidence rocks! I am definitely living my best life and loving every moment of it. You can too.
You just have to look inwards within yourself to see your potential and recognize your values. Focus on these things and don’t believe anyone is above your league.
